We have all sat among friends who were probably drinking when they suggested we had an interesting life and why didn't we write a book?
Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
Well, thankfully, most of us ignore such suggestions. In this case, Mr. Langston didn't and the result is a highly unreadable book that certainly didn't need to be written. All of us have come through Ellis Island or have ancestors who did, so Mr. Langsten certainly is not unique there. The rags to riches story has also been told over and over in biographies, fiction, films, ad nauseam and there is nothing unique in this one.
As a matter of fact, even the title of Langsten's book has been plagarized with several books under the same name published earlier. So, we read a lot about his love of sailing in this book. Well, if you as the reader don't share this love, let me put it this way, you're sunk. The book doesn't provide much of anything. You learn about his business dealings on his way up and see that he doesn't have much in the way of good character.

Some of his dealings are pretty shady. So is this a love story? Is it about his love for Gisela? He seems more in love with yachts and bigger and better cars and trying to impress people.
And I think that is what Mr. Well glance through this book and see just how little he cares for his reader. He is supposedly educated but there is no attempt at good spelling or grammar and in this day and age he could have easily at least done the courtesy to the reader of using Spellcheck.
But, no sign of it.
