The fourth group has become the majority in most churches today. They have not been transformed by the Gospel but they have modified their behavior to conform to the behavior of the church.
Conformed or Transformed?
This is just like teaching a parrot to talk or a dog to tolerate clothes and walk on its hind legs — the fact is that the parrot is still a parrot and the dog remains a dog. First, it does not deal with the fundamental issue of salvation. Secondly, because the basic nature of the individual has not been transformed, he will revert to his true nature from time to time.
He had learnt to act and speak, and was dressed like a German. At an unexpected moment, a suspicious German soldier shot a question at the escapee in English. He responded in English and his cover was blown. In the same way, at times these individuals drop the mask and their true identity becomes visible.

The problem is not that there are imposters in the church. In the parable of the wheat and the tares Jesus makes it clear that there will be false disciples, and that they have been planted by the Devil and that it is almost impossible to distinguish between them and the true followers Matthew The real problem is that leaders are encouraging unbelievers to be integrated into the church. To this end they have elaborate programs to make unbelievers feel welcome in the activities of the community.
This would not be a problem if, at some point, they were confronted with the message of the Gospel. But because the message of the cross is offensive 1Corinthians 1: Thus people progress from enjoying the free coffee, playing in the softball team and losing weight in the fitness program to leadership positions without ever being transformed by Christ.
Recently a story emerged of a Californian high school teacher who could neither read nor write. He is a master of camouflage, blending in with whatever color of limb or leaf he is perched on. Of course, all that camouflage vanishes, giving way to some brighter colors, if a lady friend or a competing male happens by. Most of the time, the chameleon outside my window was a beautiful green, matching the shrub he claimed for his territory.
God designed many of the birds and animals living in the far northern climes to turn snow-white for a few months in the winter instead of migrating south. Then when summer approaches, their fur or feathers return to their normal gray or brown. The arctic fox and snowshoe rabbit are a couple of examples. How awesome are the creative powers of God! The variety and complexity of all living things demand a Creator. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Humans are probably the most adaptive of all living creatures.
A Lesson From a Chameleon: Conformed vs. Transformed
There are astronauts circling miles above the earth at over 17, miles per hour, and there are thousands of sailors living for months as deep as a quarter mile under the oceans in modern submarines. Man has walked on the moon, lived in the scorching heat of the Sahara and explored the frigid conditions around both poles at 60 degrees below zero.
Not only are we humans able to adapt physically to a wide variety of conditions, but history records the mental and psychological resilience of many people through the centuries. The ability to adapt can be both good and bad. People can work and live in a wide range of environmental conditions, but they can also conform to degrading surroundings, confusion or abuse rather than change it or leave. In time, people can even perceive such destructive environs as normal.
Anyone who decides to live a more godly life will soon find he or she will need to change or turn away from much of what is going on around him or her. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
