Depth-as-information is ineffective and depth-as-application can miss the point. Most important point for me was his insistence that teachers must themselves be transfixed by the gospel in order for their teaching to compel their hearers.

I know that I must somehow link each lesson to the gospel, but sometimes I have been at a loss as to how to do so. This book has given me some guidelines and helps in making that leap of truth.
