The story was not believable and the characters were not likeable.

Bone Pit (Gina Mazzio, book 3) by Bette Golden Lamb and J J Lamb

There was too much grossness and too much nasty language. I will not read another book by these authors. Sep 28, Helen rated it really liked it.

Bone Pit was a fast paced book full of twists and turns that really had me rooting for the good guys Harry and Gina. While this book is suspensful iti s a lot darker than what i feel comfortable reading, but i still couold not put it down until the very end. Aug 19, Emily rated it really liked it Shelves: I've seen people saying they couldn't finish this one, but I read it in one day and quite liked it.

I would instead read non-fiction or a memoir. This book isn't anymore graphic than the other ones, but it is still pretty gruesome. The misogyny from the male characters wa I've seen people saying they couldn't finish this one, but I read it in one day and quite liked it. The misogyny from the male characters was toned down significantly, though still exists. The punctuation was still a little messy but better than the previous. The author really loves the word tentacles for some reason, and there are a lot of unnecessary exclamation points in the dialogue.

Some of the scenes seemed too long or could have simply been summed up for the reader in a paragraph or two, but not really too bad. All in all it was worth the read to me. Aug 11, norm colaimone rated it it was amazing. A real eye opener. Very interesting, I imagine scientific research must be very difficult to develop a new medicine. I can believe something like this could happen for real.

Pharmaceutical companies with unscrupulous owners more interested in profits than producing useful drugs for the betterment of mankind. I believe in the USA the health care system is for profit and not for the general health of the citizens of the country. Because of the above I believe the story line may have really happened. I enjoyed this book very much. Well written, keep my interest, completed the book in a few dats. I will recommend this book to others. Definitely will read this author again. May 16, Tiffany rated it liked it Shelves: I enjoyed this different take on Gina's world.

I always love the interaction between Gina and Harry. I like how they work together and play off of each other. It is a very cute relationship. This is the third in the series. It is beginning to feel a little formulaic, so I may need to put Gina aside for a while and then come back to read more. Dec 02, Julie R rated it it was ok Shelves: The plot of this book had potential.

I've liked the other books in this series but this one fell short. For one thing it needed much better editing. There were words missing, Harry kept calling Gina "doll", which drove me crazy and just the grammar and language needed polishing. Parts of it reminded me of a teenage horror movie where the characters have no common sense. The plot was promising, but I was disappointed. It will be a while before I read the next one in the series.

Aug 14, Catherine rated it liked it. I read the whole book. I didn't find Gina believable. She was complaining about something being wrong before she stepped inside. How could she know? Also that she went off alone, exploring areas she shouldn't didn't ring true. However the idea was really good and I wouldn't put any skullduggery past pharmaceutical companies. Jun 13, Catherine Replogle rated it liked it.

I'm not good with writing reviews ,that said it was different kind of suspense that keeps you reading to the end.

Sep 17, Kathryn Otero rated it liked it. Was not my favorite book. I had a hard time getting thru it. Still would read another book with the same characters, thought they were interesting. Dec 19, Madeline rated it it was ok. A bit more believable than its predecessors but not a lot so. Again, the villains are just too villainous. Jun 21, Crystal w rated it really liked it. Really interesting book that kekep s you guessing. It was interesting and had a great pace and a whole lot of mystery. May 07, Linda Hunt rated it did not like it. Awful Not the best book I've ever read , very predictable story.

I did manage to get to the end , I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this book. May 06, Su rated it really liked it. An interesting read, the story kept moving along at a good pace. Oct 28, sue kozin rated it it was amazing. Bone Pit, good read. A chilling medical suspense thriller.

Good suspense and fast action. Jul 02, Sheila Myers rated it really liked it Shelves: An interesting and suspenseful thriller with a unique plot. I would've given this one five stars, but it needs a little editing to get rid of the mistakes that lead to distractions. May 12, Beverly J. Miller rated it it was amazing. I really could not stop reading. When I did, I came back to it. Gina and Harry get in more trouble. But they finely win out.

Oct 20, julie mills rated it it was amazing. A page turner Really liked the story line the main characters were believable. Mar 09, Josephine Hawkins rated it really liked it. Bone Liked story greatly. Pulled me into story from beginning. Didn't want to put it down. I could imagine the fear that gripped them in the dark mine. Feb 19, James rated it it was amazing. Great but chilling Loved it. Can't wait to backtrack. Characters are fleshed out nicely, very intriguing plot. Keep up the great work from one RN to another. Feb 17, Barbara Dunbar rated it really liked it.

From start to finish there was tons of creepy stuff and medical misery going on. Gina and Harry had to deal with pitch black tunnels and cold autopsy tables! Feb 13, David Brown rated it liked it. This is a story about a drug company that had potentially discovered a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

It cures the dementia but accelerates aging. In the tradition of thalidomide the company tries to falsify the research. They also try to hide the physical evidence. All goes well until our heroes appear on the scene. This is where the credibility gap came for me. But after they arrive, and learn what is expected from them, and spending time with a few of the patient's, they quickly realize that things are not on the up and up, and something is seriously wrong at this facility. Their curiosity as to what exactly is going on, puts both their lives at risk.

Considering that this story was the the 3rd book in a series, I was more than a little pleased that it was complete, and could stand on it's own. There were a very few references to past events, and they were fully explained very quickly, and then the story moved on. This was well written, and it moved quite smoothly from chapter to chapter. It had a clean, crisp ending, no loose threads to lead you by the nose, feeling you had to read the next story in the series.

I do recommend it. It was quite enjoyable from beginning to end. This is the third in the series. I liked this one. Gina needs a break and time away from the hospital and town where she lives and works.

They are offered jobs in a small town in Nevada. Its a small medical facility that is involved in clinical drug studies. When Gina and Harry get there Gina is already not feeling things are all the seem to be and she is wanting to run away right from the start. When patients start disappearing Gina and Harry start looking into things more and more. This is a page turner. Closer to the end of the book I got, the harder it was to put it down! Alarmingly, many aspects were too believable.

I pretty much drug myself through the first part of the book, but the background and the romance were necessary to the rest of the story. Most of my questions were answered as the story developed, but it seemed to take too long. Having said that, I still highly recommend it to anyone that seeks thrillers that have technical research utilized in the making of them.

I gave it four stars. This is a frightening story about a company taking advantage of people's hopes to gain improvement over symptoms of Alzheimers. It has multiple layers of mystery that I found scary. I received a complimentary copy from Amazon. That did not change my opinion for this review. It is a thought-provoking medical thriller.

This is an unusual concept but when it comes to what drug companies may do based on human greed , you never know what might happen. I found it to be easy reading and it kept my interest as to what would happen next. The only thing I didn't like which I knew up front was that this story is based on the main character being in many other stories, and this story often made reference to things that had happened in other stories.

I don't particularly like that and would rather just have one story within the book Unfortunately, I did not read the first two books in this series but this book could stand alone. I don't feel that I've missed anything. Gina and her fiance Harry Lucke have taken on a travel nurse assignment deep in the heart of the desert in Nevada. But they soon find out the assignment was too good to be true and things are far from normal at the Comstock Medical facility. The flow of the story seems a bit jumpy and at times I struggled to figure out who was talking or how something fit in with the situation at hand.

Still an entertaining book that kept me guessing. See all reviews. Amazon Giveaway allows you to run promotional giveaways in order to create buzz, reward your audience, and attract new followers and customers. Learn more about Amazon Giveaway. Set up a giveaway.
