Feb 23, Joel rated it really liked it. Was interested in learning more about the religion itself and the book tells you a lot about the author's personal journey. It gets annoying at first, I'd rather just the stories, but it sends up helping the book a bit in the end they could be shorter though.

A pretty decent first approach. The writer will say several times in the book that he is not an expert yet he continually gives advice to potential initiates. His tone switches back and forth from Storyteller to Advisor.

THE ORIGIN OF THE WORSHIP OF IFA RELIGION - FESTOUR

I found this annoying and wished he just talked of his experience among the pataki and descriptions of orishas. There were moments when his tone felt condescending. His extensive description of his personal altar was unnecessary and boring.
